Dear Diary,
Today Wolfe and Veronica were in town from California to visit her sister, and decided to have a short NYC day out shoot. We kept it really simple in terms of using one outfit, and one specific location. The decision was mostly based on the day (it was totally drizzling as we walked home), and how close we started to the HIGHLINE!!! We utilized the natural habitat (hehe, pigeons and TAXIS!) as you can see here, which was so much fun for Wolf. Letting him lead most of the time led us to getting some really authentic gestures, expressions and backgrounds.
Something that i love about shooting for friends (Ive done shoots for Veronica seperately and on to her little family now) is that they trust some of my process, which i gear towards the authentic. Authentic spaces, vibes, choices…ESPECIALLY with the kiddos! Nothing is more fun for a family than catching a little one doing something special, or even a little bad (devil emoji). Bringing on easy, child chosen props definitely help. Wolf chose his taxi cars, and was even more excited to catch them in the wild. So….we worked from there! Some extras always help, and even a change of clothes for any accidents….

Its so special to see my friends families grow, and be able to help document the growth of their families from the start, and be involved. Its one of the best parts of my job!
